From our Somerset office, Laird Bailey led the post planning landscape design for Trevarner Farm, a major residential development in Wadebridge, Cornwall. Collaborating with Tyler Grange, our landscape architects in Somerset secured planning approval with Laird Bailey delivering further technical work for construction, developing sustainable green infrastructure across the site and enhancing biodiversity. This project aligns with our work in Somerset and Gloucestershire, blending community and ecology.

Trevarner Farm was approved in 2018. Our landscape planning ensured the site’s rural character was preserved through restoration of boundary elm with disease resistant planting, a new woodland and play area design. Working with Vistry South West, we supplied tender documentation, enabling construction to begin for residents in 2024.

Our Somerset-based team adopted a context-led approach:

• Play Area Design: Created engaging play spaces for families, enhancing community appeal and local amenity.
• Biodiversity Enhancement: Restored boundary features with disease resistant planting and designed a new woodland to boost local ecology and assist in landscape and visual impact.
• Green Infrastructure: ecological restoration and enhancement through planting of native trees, shrubs and grasses to manage runoff and support climate change adaptation.
• Planning and Technical Work: Assisted Tyler Grange in planning submissions, followed by detailed technical designs for construction.
